Eva Jean Darnell, 83, of Pleasant Plains, IL died Saturday, March 12, 2016, at her home.
She was born January 12, 1933 in Adair County, KY, the daughter of Eugene and Nannie Sinclair Willis. She married J. R. Darnell on April 28, 1954 in Springfield, IL and he preceded her in death on October 6, 2012.
She is survived by three children, Linda Mullinix (husband, Stan) of Eddyville, KY, Jeff Darnell (wife, Karen) of Ashland, and Eric Darnell (wife, Marian) of Springfield; 14 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; a sister, Geneva Pehlman of Pleasant Plains; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a great great grandchild; and five siblings, Christine Cowan, Claude Willis, Frances Humphress, Bernice Brown, and William Willis.
A graduate of Pleasant Plains High School, Eva Jean was employed for 20 years at Thrifty Drug Store in Springfield. She was an active member of First Baptist Church in Ashland. She was proud of her family and valued time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
