Eva Dovie Ross, 86, of Anderson, passed away on March 16, 2013 at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Anderson. She was born on August 24, 1926 in New Augusta, Mississippi and resided most of her life in Anderson.
She was a Homemaker all of her life. She loved cooking, gardening, and spending time with her most prized possessions, her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Eva is survived by her loving spouse of 71 years, whom she married August 30, 1941, James L. Ross, daughter, Anna Lois Hinton of Richton, MS, son, Marshall A. Anita Ross of Anderson, son, Robert A. “Bob” Diane Ross of Anderson, son, James Calvin Belinda Sue West Ross of Chesterfield, daughter, Darlene Michael Ginder of Anderson, son-in-law, Jack Bryson of Brazil, IN, grandchildren, Annette Hinton, Teresa Waites, Nathan Hinton of Richton, MS, Shannon Bodkin, Curtis A. Ross, Adam K. Ross, Norma Lynn Bryson, Rex Bryson, Shannan Haidle all of Anderson, and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Loretta Bryson, her mother, Julie Palmer, her father, S.L. Palmer, and her four sisters, Minnie Gipson, Floy Melcher, Pauline Grantham, and Bertha Sanford. The family would like to give a “Special Thanks” to St. Vincent’s Hospice, and 5th floor nursing staff at St. Vincent’s Anderson Regional Hospital.
