Eva D. Alsaker, 86, passed away peacefully Friday, June 10, 2016 at Park Place Senior Living in Spokane Valley, WA. She was with her family at the time of her death and her faithful caregivers. Eva was born November 16, 1929 at Potlatch to Lars H. and Martha Vestvik Alsaker, Norwegian immigrants. She grew up and went to school at Potlatch, graduating in 1947. In 1949 she started with Everett Will Tractor Co. Inc. in Moscow as bookkeeper. Following the sale of the business in 1981, she continued to work closing the books for the business. In 1989, Eva began with Pullman Tractor, later becoming Columbia Tractor, retiring in 1993. She made her home in Moscow for over 60 years, moving to the Spokane area to be near family five years ago. Eva lived a full life on her terms and embraced any challenge that came her way with her characteristic tenacity. Her brand of friendship and warm heart were her strongest characteristics. Her family and all things Norway were the gifts she shared with those she loved. To her family of nieces and nephews she was Aunt Eva, our special friend, confidant and life coach. She never missed an opportunity to spoil us, support us, cry and laugh with us and hold us when no one else could understand our pain and joy. To her many friends in Moscow and around the globe she was the faithful ambassador of a helping hand and forever hope. Her gift to all who were lucky to know her was her unending loyalty. We will miss Eva. Eva was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Mary Reilly and brothers Don and Rudy and a nephew David.
