Eva D. Birch, age 91 of Midland died Sunday October 12, 2014 at Stratford Village. The daughter of the late Alexander and Lorene (Butler) Carter was born on February 14, 1923 in Custer, Kentucky and was raised and educated in Louisville, KY moving to Bay City in 1946 and later to Midland in 1950. On September 4, 1943 she married Ronald Birch in Louisville, KY and he predeceased her on June 13, 1994. Eva worked as a Dental Assistant for Dr. Bressler D.D.S. and retired in 1972. Eva was a charter member of the Holy Family Episcopal Church and was a member of the former Midland O.E.S. #121 and was an avid Cardinal, Teddy Bear collector and enjoyed reading. Eva also spent time and enjoyed volunteering for the Midland County Council on Aging for several years and was an avid Detroit Tiger fan.
Eva is survived by her sons Charles Birch of Midland and Timothy Birch of Midland and her daughter Jana (Robert) Havern of Waterford. She is also survived by grandchildren Trevor (Anna) Birch, Deric Birch, Nick (Cathy) Birch, Christopher Birch; great grandchildren Kaleb, Junior and Joey. Eva will also be missed by her brother-in-law Gus Rudnick, daughter-in-law Kim Birch and a very special friend Patricia Lyvere. She was predeceased by her daughters Patti Birch and Wendy & Thomas Buchanan.
