Eunice Elizabeth Abercrombie Stowell, 91, of Newnan, died on Friday, September 30, 2011, at Auburn Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Auburn, Illinois. The daughter of the late John W. and Annie Coffey Abercrombie, she was born on February 13, 1920, at her parents’ home northwest of Newnan. She was a 1939 graduate of Newnan High School and a 1952 graduate of Southeastern Bible College in Birmingham, Alabama. She married Francis N. Stowell on June 6, 1951, in Carrollton. She was an active member of White Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church near Senoia, and later Bible Baptist Church in Newnan. She is survived by her husband of sixty years, Francis Stowell; sons Timothy (wife, Ellen) Stowell of Chattanooga, Tennessee, and Daniel (wife, Miriam) Stowell of Loami, Illinois; and grandchildren Samuel, Joseph, Rachel, Benjamin, Tian, Yu-Hsuan, and Star Stowell.
