Eunice S. Wellard, 100, residing at Bliss (Tuttle) Idaho, passed away in her home on October 2, 2022.
She was born in Norwood Missouri on February 10, 1922. She spent the first nine years of her life living in Missouri at which time her family relocated to the Magic Valley of Idaho. Some years later the family moved to the Lost River area (Bernice) Idaho where she met and Married James Elwin Wellard. They bought a small ranch North of Shoshone Idaho near the Ice Caves where they raised the family. Later, they sold the ranch and moved to Wendell Idaho where the children attended and graduated high school.
After her husband’s passing in 1979, Eunice stayed active with travel, sewing, and writing poetry. She became very good at writing poetry and became a member of the Cowboy Poets of Idaho where she wound up winning the silver Quill award for excellence in writing.
Eunice lived a long and productive life.
She was preceded in death by her husband James Elwin “Bud” Wellard who passed away April 6, 1979.
Eunice has four children, all living, as follows: Kenneth Wellard – residing at Sandy Utah; Donna Byrns – residing at Hagerman (Tuttle) Idaho; Larry Wellard – residing at Bliss – (Tuttle) Idaho; and Verna Prince – residing at Central Point Oregon. She has 10 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren and 44 great great grandchildren.
