Eunice Jean Boren-Akins of Canon City, CO went to see her Lord January 6, 2015. She was born January 4, 1929 in Midwest, Wyoming to Orval E. and Velma Boren. Eunice was 4 years old when her family moved to Olney Springs, CO, where she grew up on the farm and attended school. She graduated from Olney Springs High School in 1947, then attended one year at La Junta Junior College. Eunice stayed home and helped her father with the farm when his health began to fail. She also worked part-time in the turkey shed, the Diven Tomato Factory, and Wiswells Dairy in La Junta. She spent two summers working at the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, CO. On April 5, 1953, Eunice was united in marriage to William A. Akins in Olney Springs, CO.
