Eunice J. Hamm, age 85, passed away peacefully in her sleep, on Sunday April 24, 2022 at her residence.
Eunice was born on March 28, 1937 to Anton and Ann (Blenker) Maciejewski in Wisconsin Rapids. She married Duane Hamm on February 2, 1955 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Wisconsin Rapids. Eunice’s work life included helping run the family business “Duane’s Bar” in Wis Rapids, then factory work at Del Monte and Ore-Ida. This inspiring work ethic was necessary to support her young family during the trying times of the mid 70’s. Her favorite occupation was homemaking; providing a safe and loving home made her the happiest.
She truly loved and was deeply devoted to her family, and they always came first. This sense of duty was shown again when Eunice cared for her sister after the car accident, and then helped operate “Hamm’s Ballroom” in Milladore, when our father became ill. Eunice enjoyed current events, never missed an episode of “Face the Nation”, and voted in every election. She enjoyed playing Bingo and video poker in Nekoosa, and loved reading and cooking.
Eunice is survived by her children: Michael (Cheryl) Hamm, Patrick (Monica) Hamm, Carrie (Nick) Spees, and Christopher (Cathy) Hamm; Grandchildren: Jessica (David), Nathan (Dany), Rebecca (Thomas), Lucas (Polly), Phillip (Amber), Harley (Jen), Jacob (Kristen), Duane, and Mitchell; great-grandchildren: Hunter (Corey), Orion, Adrianna, Noah, Hudson, Bella, Hannah, Harper, Rosemary, Lukas and Dominic; great-great-grandchild: Es’Stella; and special nieces and nephew: Kim, Michelle, and Tony.
She was predeceased by her parents, her sister Patricia Santos, former husband Duane Hamm, and son Daniel Hamm.
