Eulalia L. (Price) Griggs is now with her Lord.  She was born at home in Wood River, IL, on February 26, 1926, to Jesse B. and Alberta R. (McMillen) Price and passed away on February 21, 2022, at Westminster Village.  In 1933, she moved to Whiting, IN when her father was transferred by the Standard Oil Company.  She was a 1943 graduate of Hammond High School. While in school she worked at J.C. Penney’s, modeling women’s WWII factory clothing, that is where she met C. William Griggs, the love of her life.  They were married on Easter Sunday, April 21,1946, following his discharge from the United States Army Air Corp. He preceded her in death in 1999.

Eulalia worked in payroll of the Whiting publishing company.  Upon relocating to the Lafayette area in 1960, she was a bookkeeper for Dr. VanKirk.  She also owned the Country Store and Museum in Battle Ground for several years in the 1970’s. Eulalia was a church organist for 62 years, serving the Methodist Churches in Dyer and Battle Ground, IN and Pine Island, FL.  She also served as church treasurer for over 30 years.   Her hobbies included sewing, knitting, crocheting, counted cross stitch, weaving rugs on her looms, and weaving many baskets, as well as reading and doing jigsaw puzzles.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her sister, Gloria Olesen.

She is survived by her son, William Terry Griggs and his wife Marcia of Battle Ground; and 3 grandchildren, Ben (Sara) Griggs of Bloomington, IL., Kristy (Scott) Kainrath of Carmel, and Joshua (Kerri) Griggs of Atlanta, GA.  She also has 10 great-grandchildren, Connor, Andrew, Kendall and Brandon Griggs, Alissa, Audrey, Ava and Ali Kainrath, Maya and Cami Griggs.
