Eugenia “Jennie, Jean” Tomasetti, age 94, formerly of Burlington, passed away Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at Virtua Health and Rehab of Lumberton. Born in Beverly May 21, 1919 to Salvatore and Maria Buzzelli, Jennie grew up on the family dairy farm in the Rancocas section of Willingboro. She always enjoyed reminiscing about her childhood experiences on the farm. Jennie graduated in 1937 from Burlington High School.

She worked at various dress factories in Burlington, where she honed her skills as a seamstress. During World War II, Jennie met and corresponded with her future husband, Pat. Their wedding took place at St. Paul R.C. Church in 1946. In 1951 they moved from Rancocas to Burlington. In addition to being a dedicated, loving wife and mother, Jennie became a full time working woman when she started her career at John Wanamaker’s in Moorestown in 1964. She plied her skills as a seamstress in the alteration department, specializing in bridal work until her retirement in 1982.

In retirement she kept busy tending her vegetable and flower gardens and caring for her family. She was known for her homemade pasta, Italian cookies and pies. She enjoyed being “Grandmom” to her two granddaughters. Jennie was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Pat, parents Maria and Salvatore, brothers Julius, Frank, Eugene, Wayland and sisters Florence Giacomozzi and Ida Bertino. She is survived by her children Patricia, James (wife Veronica) and Robert, two granddaughters Maria and Gina, her sister Lenina Caruso and in-laws Adeline Stachiotti, Emma and Joseph Matarese, Grace and Henry Tomasetti, Angeline Calderone, Eleanor DeSanctis and Louise Yacona, many nieces, nephews and a very dear friend and neighbor, Lillie Leone.
