Mr. Eugene Wortham Alford, 76, of Newnan passed away Monday, June 14, 2021, at Piedmont Newnan Hospital after a brief illness.
Gene was born March 15, 1945, in Newnan to the late Mr. Thelma Alford & Mrs. Sara Wortham Alford. Gene grew up in Newnan and graduated from Newnan High School. After graduating, Gene enlisted in the U.S. Air Force where he served four years, including a tour in Vietnam. He worked for Georgia Power where he retired after 34 years. Gene was an active member of the First Baptist Church and Coweta Masonic Lodge #60. Survivors include wife, Nancy Floyd Alford; son, Scott (Whitney) Alford; brother, David (Pat) Alford; granddaughters, Greer Elizabeth Alford, Emma Catherine Alford; and extended family and friends.
