Mr. Eugene Tucker, Jr. A native of The Panama Canal Zone, and a resident of San Diego over 30 years. Mr.
EUGENE A. TUCKER, JR, affectionately known as “Gene” or “Gino”, was a man no one can replace, at least not in my heart. Eugene was born July 30, 1950 in PanamA. On Wednesday, June 17, 2015, Eugene passed away to a land that is free from sorrow and pain. Gene lived his life the best way he could. He was well loved, which is evidenced by the outpouring of love and support received from family and friends. How could he not be? He was such a kind soul. The type of person you can’t get enough of. Well, at least I think of him that way. I married him, didn’t I? If I could live all over again and go back to the time when Gene asked me to marry him; even for a million times all over I would still say yes! Marrying him was the best decision I ever made in my life; that’s how much I love my husband. That’s how much I will keep on loving him. He is the love of my life forever! Gene served in the United States. Navy from 1975 to 1983, where he gained his training in computers as a TD technician (Training Device Technician). One of his proudest moments in the Navy was receiving the “Sailor of the Year Award in 1979”. Gene received his formal education in Rainbow City High School, PanamA¡ and as an exchange student he graduated from Bismarck High School in North Dakota. He also attended and graduated from Canal Zone College with an Associates of Arts Degree and a minor in History. He continued his education at National University, where he received his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science in 1984 and his Masters in Computer Information Systems in 1986. Gene was a firefighter for the Canal Zone, where he organized the UPRISE Youth Center and the one and only talent show in Rainbow City, “THE UHURUSASA”. Gene was a very active member in many organizations both in the Canal Zone and the United States. He loved sports and was very athletic. He was very active in college and in the Navy, where he played softball for North Island. He was also active in track and field, football, basketball, soccer, and boxing. He loved sports. Gene worked at various companies such as Loral Instrumentation, Singer and various defense departments throughout San Diego, where he spent 95% of his time traveling to numerous companies. He was a computer teacher at Southwestern College. He owned and operated San Diego Scientific Computers for fifteen years. Gene is in heaven now. He’s with his daughters, Joeritta and Johari; mother, father, sister, brother, and other friends. I’m sure he is happy there because, in heaven there is peace. “Papi, I know we will see each other again. I would feel your warm embrace again and our souls will unite for an eternity together in heaven. Papi I love you so much”. Gene is survived by his wife, Mercedes Tucker; brothers, Eric, Enrique, Andy and Eladio; sisters, Edith, Evelina, Deena, Lilia, Anselma and Francine; aunts; Tammy, Maggie, Jean and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
