Eugene Thomas O’Leary, born October 30, 1949, entered his eternal rest surrounded by his family on December 27, 2022. Eugene was the son of Michael and Maureen O’Leary. He grew up in Elmhurst, Queens where he attended Ascension Elementary School and New Town High School.
In 1969, Eugene volunteered for the draft. He served in the United States Army as a Military Police officer. He was stationed in Germany and honorably discharged after suffering hearing loss while training on authority equipment. He moved to Middletown in the late 1970s where he worked for Parks and Recreation until his retirement. During this time, he also ran a part-time landscaping service.
Eugene married the love of his life, Darla, in 2003. They had a happy and fulfilling life.
