He loved to share Electric Boat stories with Gary and listen to Deb and her humor. Deanne was probably happy we took Mike off her hands for a few days. Gene loved his grandsons with all of his heart and enjoyed time spent with them as they grew up.

He started as a pipefitter apprentice and completed his career as a Ships Manager for The Hartford and The Springfield submarines. He was well regarded by his peers and made forever friends along the way. Gene was a great bowler and as time went on decided to become an avid boater enjoying fun boating ventures.
Upon retirement he moved to Melbourne, FL and was happy to reconnect with his cousin John T. Carney and his wife Cindy of Tampa, FL attending New York Yankee vs. Boston Red Sox spring training games with them. He also enjoyed traveling and socializing with his Melbourne friends. He loved to return to Uncasville in the summer meeting up with the Fowler Drive group.
