Eugene “Gene” F. Savage, 58, of Newington, beloved husband, father, son and grandfather, died unexpectedly at home on September 3, 2013. He was the beloved husband for 17 years of Sheila (Harris) Schofield Savage. Born on Aug. 8, 1955, son of the late Charles Albion Savage and Catherine (Morin) Savage, he was raised in Machias, Maine. His world revolved around his family, and was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. Besides his wife, he leaves a daughter Susan Schofield Casparino and husband Richard, ; grandchildren R.J., Tiffani, Brandon, and Aiden. He also leaves brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, , William and Jen Harris, Susan and Steve Behling, Richard and Victoria Harris, and Sharon Curtis; and his four-legged best friend Mugzley. Gene was a dedicated employee for 32 years of Lindberg/Bodycote in Berlin. He was a proud U. S. Coast Guard Veteran, and served on the Unimak from 1973 to 1977. His family would like to thank Dr. Michael Conway and Dr. Susan Stone for their compassionate medical support.
