Eugene George Lows, 82, of Centralia, passed away Sunday, June 10, 2018 at SSM Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon. Gene was born March 8, 1936 to Thomas and Wanda (Eaton) Lows. He married Phyllis Shadowens on June 13, 1964 in Carbondale and she preceded him in death on November 30, 2006.
Gene is survived by a son: Kent Eugene Lows and wife Dr. Christa Lows of Atlanta, GA., two daughters: Amy Robbins and husband Matt of Centralia and Karla Lows of Houston, TX., two grandchildren: Avery and Grayson Lows of Atlanta. Gene was a medic for the US Army serving in Germany after World War II. He was a nurse at St. Mary’s Hospital for 40 yrs before retiring. He loved spending time with his family and friends and was a loving father and grandfather.
