Eugene “Gene” E. Edelman, 89, of Mechanicsburg, formerly of Bethlehem, passed away on November 3, 2022. He was the beloved husband of Sharon (Recek) Edelman with whom he shared over 44 years of loving marriage. Born on April 19, 1933 in Kreidersville, he was a son of the late Harvey and Minnie (Muschko) Edelman.

 

Gene started working when he was young as a milk delivery man for Howertown Dairy. He then would go on to honorably serve his country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. After being discharged Gene started his career as a traffic manager with the former Boise Cascade and Mail Well Envelopes until he retired. During his career Gene was a member of the Lehigh Valley Traffic Club, and helped organize the Hanover Twp. Ambulance Corp. After retirement Gene went back to work for several years at Team Imaging, where he made lasting friendships with people who were very special to him. Gene was an avid Eagles and Phillies fan, card player, and a casino enthusiast. Most of all, he was a devoted and proud husband, dad, and Pop Pop.

 

Survivors: Gene will be lovingly remembered by his wife Sharon; daughters, Lee Ann Fackler and husband Jeff and his children, Kristin and Paige Fackler, and Trish Craig and husband Jason and two precious grandchildren Ryker and Tenley Craig; brother, Donald Edelman; sister, Marlene Newhart; and many loving nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Martin Edelman, Clarence Edelman, and Allen Edelman; sisters, Dolores Hoppes, Lorraine Edelman, Marie Hahn, Diane Mall, Maryann Neetz, and Pearl Zuberka; stepbrother, Carl Edelman; stepsisters, Edith Santee, and Ruth Stettler.

 

 

 

The family would like to cordially invite everyone to join them following services at the Schnecksville Fire Co. Social Club/Banquet Hall, T4550 Old Packhouse Road, Schnecksville, PA 18078 (conveniently located on Rte. 309) where a luncheon has been planed for everyone to come and continue to share memories of Gene.
