Eugene Clarence Samuelson (fondly known as Sam or Gene) was born in Randolph, Nebraska on June 23, 1933, to Harry and Rosie Samuelson (Jacobson). He had one older brother Emerys and an older sister Flo. Gene spent his younger years growing up on farms around the Randolph and Sholes Nebraska area. He attended school in Sholes Nebraska for elementary and two years of high school and then had to finish high school in Carrol Nebraska after the high school in Sholes burnt down. After graduating from high school in 1950, he spent time working on a farm until moving to Lincoln Nebraska in 1951. In the fall of 1952, he started attending the University of Nebraska to seek his civil engineering degree. In 1953 he was called to serve in the United States Army, attending basic training at Ft.

In the fall of 1956, he returned to the University of Nebraska to finish his Civil Engineering Degree. From their union they have two children, son Gregory Dee Samuelson and a daughter Michelle Jean Samuelson (Ayers).

Gene is survived by his wife Charlotte of 65 ½ years. His son Gregory Dee Samuelson (Alicia) of Yampa Colorado, daughter Michelle Ayers of Denver Colorado, Grandson Cody Samuelson (Victoria) of Indian Hills Colorado, Granddaughter Kaycee Samuelson Sidwell (Tyrel) of Eaton Colorado, Granddaughter Brittany Ayers Knight (Nick) of Bailey Colorado, Granddaughter Kelsey Samuelson Monger (Kyle) of Hayden Colorado. He was also blessed with 7 Great Grandchildren Jordan, Kara, Paisley, Taylor Sidwell, and Thaddeus, Skylar and Alexia Knight. 

He was an incredibly special Husband, Dad, Poppa and Friend. He will be in our hearts forever.
