Eugene Anderson passed away on December 20, 2007 at the age of 80.
Gene was born on April 26, 1927 in Lincoln, Arkansas moving to Coolidge, AZ in 1936. He married his high school sweetheart, Madge, on June 28, 1947 and they started their business Gene’s Shoe Hospital in Flagstaff on February 1, 1948 which they both worked for 50 years.
Gene retired on February 1, 1998 selling the store to his son Gary. He also helped his sons Andy and Stanley to start stores in Apache Junction and Cottonwood.
Gene was am avid hunter and was proud of his many trophies. He also loved fishing with his family and friends. Happily married to Madge for 60 years, loving father to Andy (Debbie), Gary (Verlee) and Stanley and the grandfather to Casey, Nikki, Glen, Jeane and Justin and Godfather to Julie Smith.
Gene is survived by many wonderful friends, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was proceeded in death by his parents, C.N. and Dora Anderson and his two sisters. Even in his darkest of days Genes concern for the welfare of his wife, sons and their families were foremost in his mind.
Gene always said he wanted to be remembered how much he loved his family and friends.
