Etta “Joyce” Burns Brown, 68, Anderson, died December 26, 2008 at St. Johns Health System, Anderson Indiana after an extended illness.
She was born January 5, 1940 in Anderson, and was a lifelong resident of this area. A 1958 graduate of Lapel High School, Joyce worked at RCA in Marion and J.C. Penney.
She is survived by her husband, whom she married June 21, 1958, Robert Brown; daughter, Desiree Kershner of Tupelo, MS; son: Derek Brown & wife, Suzette of Middletown; brothers, Emerson Burns & wife, Caroline and Lewis Burns, all of Anderson; grandchildren, Jennifer Kershner, Melissa Kershner, Shantelle, Sarah, and Sierra Brown; and great grandchildren, Kirsten, Chelsea, and Keelan.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lester & Georgetta Clemens Burns; and a sister-in-law, Virginia Burns.
