Ethlyn Hartog, 90, of Freeport, died Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at Noble Village Senior Living Center in Suwanee, Georgia where she has resided for the past three years. Born January 24, 1921 in Freeport she was the daughter of Edward and Ethlyn (Stiffler) Brown. She married Claus Hartog August 17, 1951 in Peoria and he died March 31, 1987 in Freeport. She was an avid card player, enjoyed dancing on Friday nights at the Eagles Lodge, and was active at the Stephenson County Senior Center. She was a member of Home Extension for over 40 years and belonged to T.O.P.S. Surviving is her daughter, Jayne Hoffman of Duluth, Georgia; her step-daughter, Doris (Reggie) Miller of Freeport; 3 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; 1 son, James; 3 brothers; and 3 sisters.
