Ethel Skibek, age 86 of Milford, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, May 24, 2012.  Ethel was born on June 9, 1925 in Bridgeport, CT and was the daughter of the late Paul and Mary Holczer.  

She is the devoted wife of the late Sigismund J. Skibek, whom served his country in WWII.  

Ethel is the beloved mother of Edna Young of West Haven and loving grandmother of Dawn Klein and her husband Scott of Winter Springs, FL, Cindy Young of West Haven, Kenneth Young of San Diego, CA and Gary Tarantino of East Haven.  She is also survived by her cherished great grandchildren Sandra and Ashley Klein of FL, Kayla and Michael Tarantino of East Haven, and  dearly loved Ciara Young of West Haven and a great great grandson Nathan Thomas of FL.  

She was predeceased by her beloved daughter Karen M. White, her sisters Irene Theriault, Goldie Stramski and Margaret Erickson and her brother Paul Holczer.  

Ethel was a 20 year employee (retired) of Dictaphone Corporation and was a proud owner of Rainbow Handcrafts in Milford.  She was a 16 year member of Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary and an active member of Milford Senior Center Ahrens Program.  She volunteered hand knitting caps for Save the Children’s KnitOne, Save One Program.  

She was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.  

Ethel touched the hearts and lives of many in her own special way. She will be truly missed.
