Ethel May Reynolds Levredge died peacefully at the age of 98 at Calvert Manor Health Care on Tuesday, September 6, 2005.
She was the daughter of the late George and Amanda McDowell Lockard of Elk Neck.
Ethel was a life long resident of Red Point, in North East, MD and was the widow of Phillip Burchelle Reynolds who died in 1955. Her second husband Clarence Levredge died in 1975.
Ethel was a domestic worker for local families and spent 10 years working for the A & P Tea Company in Elkton, MD. She lived independently at her home on Cara Cove overlooking the North East River until she was 96. Here she enjoyed the simple things in life; fishing, crocheting and embroidery, reading the Bible, cooking, picnicking with family and being a friend to all the wildlife that shared her home on the water.
Most importantly, Ethel will be remembered for her humble and unwavering service to Hart’s United Methodist Church. She was a lifetime member of the church and served as Sunday School teacher to many for over 50 years while mentoring others on their spiritual journey to accepting Jesus Christ. She taught all that she met, “Jesus Loves Me and God Is Love”.
She is predeceased by three sisters: Emma Dilks of Elkton, MD, Esther Campbell and Alice McClelland both of Red Point, in North East, MD.
She is survived by three sons; Reese C. Reynolds and wife Marilyn Reynolds of Chadds Ford, PA, Philip B. Reynolds, Jr. and wife Louanna Reynolds of Bellhaven, NC and Harry F. Reynolds and wife Katie Reynolds of North East, MD. She was the loving grandmother of six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. She will be remembered as Mrs. Reynolds, Ethel, Mother, Mom, Mom-mom and Grandmom and will remain forever in our hearts.
Rev. Daniel Gedman, Rev. Beverly Lewis and Rev. Mary Browne will officiate.
