Ethel Mae Trexler Honbarrier, 87, of Salisbury, died Saturday, December 10, 2011, at Genesis Healthcare of Salisbury.
Born January 19, 1924, in Rowan County, she was the daughter of the late Braxton C. and Etta Miller Trexler.
Mrs. Honbarrier attended Rowan County schools and retired after 35 years as a legal secretary and bookkeeper for Attorney J.M. Wagoner. She was a lifelong member of Dunn’s Mountain Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey E. Honbarrier on January 7, 1985; three sisters, Eva Drye, Ruby Leach and Virginia Trexler; two brothers, Lovie Trexler and Robert Trexler.
Survivors include her daughters, Pat Sexton and her husband Howard of Fuquay Varina and Cindy Hart and her husband Tim of Salisbury; four grandchildren, Aubrey Sexton Poe, Cory Sexton, Michael Bowles, Jason Hart and two step-grandchildren, Melissa Hart Harrington and Chad Hart; three great grandchildren, Chase Sexton, Ryland Sexton and Harper Poe; and sister, Katherine Monroe of Salisbury.
