Ethel Mae Hughes, a native and resident of the Rockville community, better known as “Baby Sister” to family and friends, made her earthly transition on Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2020 while at Jackson Medical Center. Ethel was born Nov. 26, 1950 to Rufus Hughes and Susie Jones Hughes; she was 69 years of age.
Ethel was a graduate of Harper High School in the Class of 1968 and a lifelong member of Mt. Olive No. 1 Baptist Church in Rockville. Ethel enjoyed doing cross word puzzles and spending time with family.
Preceding her in death were her parents; two sisters, Mattie B. Scott and Helen English; and one brother, Willie Hughes.
Left to cherish her loving memories are two loving and devoted sisters, Lelia M. Pugh of Toddtown and Cheyenne Ezell of Lawton, Okla.; like a daughter, Ebony Foxx; two devoted nieces, Melodie Hughes and Latrell Ezell; with a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and other relatives; devoted friends, Elizabeth Burrell and Gladys Pritchett.
