Ethel M. (Eckhart) Peiffer, 71, of Bethlehem Township, was surrounded by the love of her family when she peacefully passed away in her home on Monday, April 27, 2015. She was the wife of the late Earl R. Peiffer, who died in 1983. Born in Kunkletown, Ethel was the fourth of nine children born to the late Eugene and Thelma (Green) Eckhart. She worked for almost 25 years as a waitress and bartender at various local restaurants and clubs, including the Eagle Hotel, Silver Creek Country Club, the Independent Citizens Club, and Monocacy Field and Stream. She was a member of many social clubs, but her favorite thing was being together with her family and friends. Ethel was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Freemansburg. Survivors: daughter Sally Jones and her husband William of Bethlehem; sons Gary A. Christman of Harrisburg, Wayne N. Christman and his wife Cynthia of Northampton, Earl R. Peiffer, Jr., and his wife Sabrina of Bethlehem Township, Brian Peiffer and his wife Jamie of Freemansburg; 7 living brothers and sisters; 11 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren.
