Ethel Lee Stewart was born to the union of the late Susie Lampkin Fletcher and Sidney Stewart on December 3, 1934 in Decatur, Alabama. Ethel completed her life journey on February 8, 2014 in Far Rockaway, New York.
Ethel was educated at Decatur Negro High School in Decatur, Alabama. After moving to New York around 1964, she started a catering business. She was extraordinary cook and was in the catering business for over 20 years.
She was preceded in death by: two children, Andre Stewart and Susan Stewart; and a younger sister, Datie M. Carr.
Survivors who will cherish her memory include: a devoted companion, Jerry “Bobby” Tilly; nephews, Michael Stewart (Linda), Kerry Carr, and Andre Carr(Hope); nieces, Pinky Carr, De’Andra Stewart-Spencer(Xavier), and Susie Spencer; as well as a host of cousins and friends, all which added great joy to her life.
