Esther Romero Pena, 94
Esther Romero Pena, 94, of Alamogordo, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at Casa Arena Blanca Nursing Center.
Esther was born October 8, 1915, in Tinnie, New Mexico, to Antonio and Carolina Romero. In 1941, she married the love of her life, Juan R. Pena, of that union, they had nine children.
Esther is survived by her sons Leroy Pena and his wife, Leta, of Tularosa, New Mexico and Wallace Pena of Portland, Maine; daughters, Carol Kingsley of Morenci, Arizona and Reynalda Stogden of Alamogordo, New Mexico; a brother, Manuel Romero of La Luz, New Mexico and two sisters Rachel Artiaga of Alamogordo, and Presilena Lucero of La Luz. She is also survived by six grandsons, six granddaughters and five step grandchildren. Esther has twenty seven great grandchildren, one great, great granddaughter and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband and five sons; Louis, Antonio, Johnny, Martin and Abbey; brothers, Harry and Paul Romero; sisters, Delfina Cervantez and Leonarda Lopez; sons-in-law, William Kingsley, Sr. and Charles Stogden, Sr.; a sister-in-law Lenore Chavez and a brother-in-law Frank R. Pena.
