She passed away at 11:56 a.m. Wednesday, May 6, 2009, after three years of residing at Miller’s Merry Manor.
Born Sept. 27, 1920, in Cass County, she was the daughter of John and Annie Shanks.
She was married in Logansport on July 7, 1940, to Raymond H. “Bud” Powell, who preceded her in death on June 21, 1997.
Her family came first. She enjoyed cooking, mushroom hunting, word search puzzles, and listening to and watching basketball.
Surviving are two daughters, Martha Lou Cotner, Galveston, and Linda Kay (Paul) Rossomme, Logansport; three granddaughters, Lora (Dave) Bisard, Indianapolis, Megan (Justin) Schultz, Logansport, and Alyssa Gillum, Lafayette; and four great-grandchildren, Emma and Ellie Bisard, Ashtin Gillum, and Tristin Schultz.
She was preceded in death by six brothers, three sisters, and one son-in-law, Mike Cotner.
