Esther Louise Bassing, 90 of Newburg, WV went to be with the lord Sunday, July 17, 2011 at Heartland of Preston County. She was born August 30, 1920 in Cumberland, MD, daughter of the late Elmer Leslie and Ruth Emma Devore King. Esther was a homemaker and was a waitress for many years. She enjoyed spending time visiting with family, both in person and over the phone. She also looked forward to visits by her friends. She maintained a positive attitude, a gentle spirit, a sharp mine, an easy going disposition, and an enthusiasm for living to the end. She had attended the Newburg United Methodist Church when she was able, and she was saved by Gods grace on January 13, 2007 at the age of 86. Surviving are one sister, Pat Zorne of Wintersville, Ohio; several nieces and nephews, several great nieces and nephews, and several great-great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Esther was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Joseph Bassing in 2004; three brothers, Dale King, Lloyd King, and Floyd King.
