Esther was born on September 12, 1924 to John and Elsa (Quandt) Koepsell in Juneau, Wisconsin. Esther graduated from Juneau High School in 1943. She then received her Associates Degree in Elementary Education from Concordia College in River Forest, Illinois. Esther worked as a teacher for many years. On December 23, 1950, Esther was united in marriage to Frederick Kwirant at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church in Horicon, Wisconsin. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church and the Lutheran Women’s League. She was also involved in helping with the “Coming Generations” campaign for St. John Lutheran Church. Esther passed away on July 2, 2013 in Seward, Nebraska at the age of 88 years, 9 months and 20 days. Esther is survived by her sons, Frederick Kwirant, Omaha, Nebraska and Dr. James (Kandi) Kwirant, Muscatine, Iowa; daughter, Cynthia (Patrick) Dorcey, Seward, Nebraska; grandchildren, Stephen (Jean) Dorcey, Joshua (Tsega) Dorcey, Hannah (Joshua) Dorcey DeAses, Justin (Linda) Kwirant, Seth (Kala) Kwirant, Keegan Kwirant; great grandchildren, Chloie Kwirant, Avery Kwirant, Sophia Kwirant, Josephine Kwirant, Connor Dorcey, Winora Dorcey, Caleb Dorcey; brother, Martin Koepsell, Costa Mesa, California. Esther was preceded in death by her parents, John and Elsa (Quandt) Koepsell; husband, Rev. Frederick Kwirant; son, Daniel Kwirant; brother, Erwin (Audrey) Koepsell; sister, Verona (Harold) Becker.
