Esther J. Carman, 82, of Muncie, Indiana, passed away Thursday evening, March 22, 2018 at Morrison Woods Health Campus, Muncie.
She was born July 27, 1935 in Hickoria, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Hubert and Lively (Ring) Mitchell. Esther was raised in Muncie and was a 1953 graduate of Muncie Central High School.
She is survived by two daughters, Alaine Kay Carman, Muncie, IN; Lynda Lee Chamness, (husband-Eric), Mechanicsburg, IN; one son, James R. Carman, Jr., (wife-Jennifer), Purcellville, VA; two brothers, James Mitchell, (wife-Vickie), Muncie, IN; Burt D. Mitchell, Sr., (wife-Shelley), Muncie, IN; seven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Hubert and Lively Mitchell; her husband of 47 years, James R. Carman, Sr.; daughter, Luella J. Driskill; granddaughter, Rebekah Driskill; son-in-law, Perry Welch; six sisters, and three brothers.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff at Morrison Woods for the loving care they showed to Esther.
