Mrs. Harrom died Wednesday, May 13, 2015, at the Norfolk Golden Living Center after a courageous battle with cancer.

Esther was born on April 22, 1937, in Pierce County, the daughter of William and Alma (Selling) Schroeder. Honey was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church and was a life-long member of that congregation.

She was raised on the family farm in Stanton County and attended rural school prior to graduating from Norfolk Public High School.

On November 21, 1965, Honey married Ole C. Harrom at St. John’s Lutheran Church. The couple was married for nearly forty-six years at the time of Ole’s passing.

Honey did private house cleaning before working as an assistant cook at the Holiday Inn for twelve years. She transferred to the Norfolk Regional Center and worked for three years in the kitchen. Then, Honey became the Custodian Supervisor for 23 years before retiring in April of 2003.

Honey’s passion was for her family. She and Ole enjoyed traveling and fishing. She also liked to dine out.

Honey is survived by her nieces and nephews: Judy and Don Denkinger, Pat and Gary Biggerstaff, Ann Schroeder, Betty and Arnold “Ace” Crawford, all of Norfolk, Bill Schroeder, of Stanton, and Julie and Norman Hoadley, of Norfolk.

She was preceded in death by parents, husband, Ole, one brother, Bill, sister-in-law, Doris, one niece, Beverly Schroeder, and one great nephew, Mark Crawford.
