Esterline (Ester) Hunt Gibbons, 98, died on February 13, 2021.
She was a native and lifelong resident of Fort Pierce, Florida. She was a graduate of the St. Anastasia Catholic School class of 1940. She worked for The Ft. Pierce Shopper before becoming manager in the lunchroom of St. Lucie Village Elementary School.
She was a member of St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Fort Pierce. Ester was a loving wife, mother, grand and great grandmother. She was kind-hearted, never met a stranger, and was known for her loving smile. She is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Robert Gibbons.
She was also preceded, in death, by her parents, Millard D. Hunt and Patronilla (Weyers) Hunt, also four brothers and one sister. She had six children; sons Bobby Gibbons, David Gibbons, Kenny Gibbons, and Joe Gibbons, all of Fort Pierce; daughters, Carol Ammons (preceded) of Baton Rouge, La., and Nancy Gibbons of Duluth, Ga.; and daughter-in-law Linda Gibbons. She had 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
