Estelle Walker was a lifelong resident of Lumpkin County. She was born November 30, 1921. She died at the family home on February 12, 2013 after a long and difficult struggle with Alzheimer s. Estelle was the daughter of the late Rev. Martin Grizzle and Minnie Ferguson Grizzle. She was preceded in death by her step-mother Jane Ash, her son and daughter, Marshall Walker and Wilma Walker Glymph Wehunt, and her husband Clifford Walker. Estelle recognized the value of education and in 1966 earned her GED. She was employed by the Lumpkin County Mental Health Department for many years working with special needs adults. She and her husband were foster parents to three young ladies for several years. She is survived by her son, Phillip H. Walker, Dahlonega, grandchildren, Charles Walker of Cleveland, Victor Glymph and Skye Glymph Chandler, both of Stockbridge, GA.; nine great- grandchildren and two great- great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two special care givers, Pam Mimbs of Cleveland and Joan Walker Siemsen of Dahlonega.
