Estelle Bowers, 76 of Ridott died Saturday May 12, 2007 at the Monroe Clinics Hospital in Monroe, WI. Born October 28, 1930, in Chicago, IL she was the daughter of Louis and Angeline (Dorociak) McGinnis.
Estelle was a graduate of Roosevelt H.S. in Chicago Class of 1948. She came to the Ridott area from a Chicago-based program called Fresh Air for Kids during the summer of the 1940s. This is how she met Rodney and continued to come back to the area even after the program dissolved eventually marrying Rodney on September 26, 1949 in the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. she was a member of the Dakota United Methodist Church and was the owner of the “House of Beauty” from 1970 -1976.
Surviving are her Husband Rodney of Ridott; one son Jeffrey (Carol) Bowers of Dakota; four daughters Paula Bowers of Beloit, WI, Cathy Hartmann of Muscatine, Iowa, Laura (Peter) Herbig-Kniskern of South Beloit and Susan (Darin) Pitchford of Gilson, IL; two Brothers- In- Law, Lorris (Helen) Bowers of Brimfield, IL and Don (Carolyn) Bowers of Dakota; three sisters, Pauline Bolton of Mt Prospect, IL, Charlotte (Alvin) Skinner of Chicago and Mary Ann (James) Hussion of Florida; five grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother James.
