Esta Mae Koontz Terry, 96, of Muncie, died peacefully at her home, September 16, 2013, with her loving family at her side. She was born July 6, 1917, in Oakville, the daughter of the late Harley and Ada (Gustin) Wood. She attended Cowan schools where she was a cheerleader and played saxophone in the school band.
Esta retired from Marsh Warehouse in Yorktown after twenty nine years.
She and her late husband, Jesse Terry, who passed away July of 2009, were married for forty six years. After retirement they enjoyed their winter home in Hudson, Florida, for seventeen years.
Her greatest joy was her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her four daughters, Linda Hamill, (husband, Robert), Adair, Oklahoma, Deanna Robertson, (husband, Frank), Nancy Hines, (husband, John), and Judy Cougill, all of Muncie. her step-children, Lois Terry, (husband, David), Selma,
Tom Terry, (wife, Sue), and Jerry Terry, (wife, Linda), all of Muncie; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and her life long friend, Erma McKibben Niccum.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her daughter, Marilyn Ent; her son and daughter-in-law, Melvin and Carolyn Koontz; her grandson, Jeff Grimes; her step-children, Betty Rosales, Phyllis Knotts, and Mary Jane Davis; her parents; and her sisters, Violet Baker and Winnie Russell.
A special thanks to her granddaughter, Tamara Lykins, and close friend, Sharon Drown, for their loving care.
