Erwin “Moose” Hageman, 100, of Peru, passed away Saturday, June 3, 2017 at Manor Court in Peru. Mr. Hageman was born on September 15, 1916 in Kearney, NE to Erwin and Sophie (Schake) Hageman.  He married Phyllis Kincheski on April 20, 1946 at Zion United Church of Christ in Peru.

He worked at Westclox in Peru from the age of 18 until age 65 as a tool and die maker.  Moose was a member of Zion United Church of Christ in Peru, served on the LaSalle County Board and the Illinois Michigan Canal Committee for many years and served as an Alderman of the City of Peru.  He was a lifelong Chicago Bears and Cubs fan – finally getting to see the Cubs win the World Series this past year.

He is survived by one daughter, Suzanne Ryan of Peru; two daughters-in-law, Lynette Hageman of Gilbert, AZ and Helen Hageman of Bloomington; three grandchildren, Nicolette (Steve) Piano, Sammi (Justin Delhotal) Hageman and Molly Ryan; two great-grandchildren, Gianna and Jackson Piano; several nieces and nephews and his second family, the team at John’s Place in Peru.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis on April 18, 2012; two sons, Philip Hageman and Kent Hageman; one son-in-law, John Ryan; one sister, Elsie Caveglia and one brother, Chris Hageman. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Zion United Church of Christ in Peru or to the donor’s choice
