Obituary of Ervin Wilhelm Ballien

Ervin Wilhelm Ballien of El Mirage, Arizona (formerly of Saginaw, Michigan). Passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at home. He was 95 years old. Ervin was born January 31, 1924 in Freeland, Michigan to the late Emil and Martha (Reick) Ballien. He married Rose F. Cammarata on June 16, 1984 at St. Matthews Episcopal Church in Saginaw; she preceded him in death on November 30, 2017. Ervin proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II earning the rank of Tec 5, Infantry. He was the recipient of the Bronze Star for heroism, and the Purple Heart due to injuries he sustained during World War II. Ervin was employed by the United States Postal Service as a mail carrier; retiring after 42 years of service.
Ervin enjoyed living in Arizona, playing softball, Square Dancing, and card playing.
Surviving are his step- children, Frank Cammarata (Rose), James Cammarata (Claudette), Louise Eaton (Robert), Marie Lamia (James), Paula Cammarata (David Wiblishauser); grandchildren, Erica Murray, Jessica Warzecha (Kevin), Gina Lockwood (Jeff), Elaina Tyree (David) and Frank Cammarata; great-grandchildren, JJ Weiss, Caleb and Landon Lockwood; sibling, June Pinnow, and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his children, Debbie and Matthew Ballien, and siblings, Lilliann Fletcher and Eleanor Pinnow.
