Ervin Lee Gurganus, 76, passed away Saturday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center. He was the son of the late Johnny and Irene Gurganus and was the husband of Julia Boswell Gurganus.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Gurganus is survived by his children, Joseph Gurganus of Dudley, Ervin Lee Gurganus Jr. of Goldsboro, and Tammy Renee Gurganus of Charlotte; stepson, Ricky Godwin of Goldsboro; a brother, Danny Gurganus of Goldsboro; grandchildren, Joshua Grim, Joseph Gurganus Jr., Nicole Powell, Maria Best, Harley Smith, Jessie Gibson, and Jason Gurganus; and great grandchildren, Olivia Gurganus, Madison Gurganus, Marianna Gurganus, Christopher Best Jr., and Addison Smith.
A stepdaughter, Brenda Godwin; brothers, Frank Gurganus, Willie Gurganus, John Gurganus Jr; and sisters, Dorothy Porter, Bett Reinhard, Mildred Cannon, Dolly Canaioni, Linda Pope, Beulah Howell, and Inez Brock all preceded him in death.
