He is survived by his wife Sarah Rose; children Tonja Harris, David Rose, Pamela Chavoya, Tony Salas, & Lisa Miller; 9 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; brother Sidney Rose; and sister Ester Salter. Ervin began working at a very young age. He first worked as a cab driver and then he worked for Metzger’s Milk Company, Dr. Pepper, and Walgreens. During this time he was able to save up $2500, which allowed him to open the first of seven Texaco gas stations. The first station was off of I-35 & Royal Lane in Dallas, TX. This is where he got his famous name “Rose Texaco”. Ervin owned and operated this station for 25 years. After partially retiring, he worked security for the Boy Scouts of America for several years. Ervin was an avid sports fan; especially the Dallas Cowboys. His other passions and hobbies included race cars & race car driving, Christmas, food, money, birthday parties, and any activities including kids. He was a very hard worker; a loyal and passionate man. During his 75 years of life, he never met a stranger and he made many friends.
