Ernesto Cavazos, Sr., 74, entered into the gates of heaven on Thursday, January 7, 2016. He was born on August 25, 1941 to Doroteo and Ninfa Cavazos at El Sabino Ranch in Santa Monica, Texas.
He graduated from Lyford High School in 1959. He began farming with his father at a young age. He then spent 33 years with Southwestern Bell. After retirement, he enjoyed the outdoors either fishing or hunting.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Violeta Cavazos; daughter, Christina (Ruben) Palomo; son, Ernesto (Delma) Cavazos, Jr.; his grandchildren, Christopher (Kristal) Gracia, Amber Gracia, Dustin, Christian, and Felix Ernesto Cavazos, Cameron and Caleb Palomo; and his great-granddaughter, Emma Cadence Gracia; his siblings, Doroteo Jr., Isabel, Jose Manuel, Rosie, Tacho, Clara, Ninfa, Adriana, Judy, and Frankie, and numerous cousins, nephews, and nieces.
Family and friends can pay their respects on Saturday, January 9, 2016, from 2-9 p.m.
