Ernestine Taricani, 65, of Newington, entered eternal life at home surrounded by her family on April, 23, 2015, after courageously battling Alzheimer Disease for seven and half years. She lived with her daughter Charlene (Krompegal) Coan, and her husband Jason Coan and her two granddaughters, Jennifer and Mackenzi for the last seven and a half years. Ernestine was the daughter of Edna (Miller) Todoroff and Nicholas Todoroff of Newington CT. She worked as a secretary for The State of CT Health Dept. for 33 years before retiring in March of 2008. Ernestine thrived during her seven years at Avery Heights Adult Day Center. They treated her with great care, love, and made her days worthwhile while living with the disease. Ernestine loved the Hartford HealthCare at Home Hospice caregivers and nurses that came and took extra special care of her the last five months. They brightened her days. She entertained them with her singing of oldies music, her impeccable responses during conversations always made us laugh. Her family would like to extend their gratitude to all the people at Hartford HealthCare at Home Hospice for their exceptional Care and Compassion. She leaves behind a daughter Charlene Coan, son in law Jason Coan and two granddaughters, Jennifer and Mackenzi Coan of Newington, CT., son Michael Krompegal, and his wife Cheryl Krompegal and two grandsons Ryan and Nicholas Krompegal of Forestville, CT. Ernestine also leaves behind a brother William Todoroff of Newington, CT.
