Ernest Lynwood Baker IV, 45, passed on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at MercyOne Hospital in Des
Moines, IA.
Ernest was born in Maryland in 1975 to Ernest Lynwood Baker III and Tommie Agee. He was raised in Peoria, IL where he graduated from Woodruff High School in 1993. He then entered the United States Marine Corps, where he proudly served his country. Following his discharge, he moved to Springfield, IL, and began his employment with AT&T Communications. He started as a Lineman, and later moved to Construction Manager, where he worked in Chicago for a time. In 2018, he began his employment with MetroNet and was recently transferred to West Des Moines as an OSP Engineer III.
Ernest was married to Leah Clark on February 6, 2010 in Bolingbrook, IL.
Ernest loved his family and is survived by his wife, Leah, four children; Angelique Baker, Veronjanae
Baker, Ernest Lynwood Baker V, and Ronin Thomas Baker, a granddaughter, Iarra-Zyanya, his mother
Tommie Moton, a sister Leeandra Price, and a host of cousins that he loved and cherished.
