Ernest Franklin Wilson Jr., loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on Thursday, May 19, 2016 at Ogden Regional Hospital. He was born September 5, 1933, a son of Ernest Franklin Wilson Sr. and Ruby Henstra in Ogden, Utah. He grew up in Ogden City, graduating from Ogden High School.

Ernie married Vera Jean Black Owens in 1956. They later divorced after being married for ten years. He then married the love of his life, Marilyn Malan Colvin on February 19, 1977. They spent 39 wonderful years together.

Ernie was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Ernie was an accomplished bowler and golfer and he received many awards. He was inducted into the Ogden Bowling Association Hall of Fame. He spent as many days as possible on the golf course. He had many friends, and everyone loved him.

He was a brick mason for over 50 years. Ernie was an excellent craftsman. He was an avid gardener, and was proud of his yard. He loved to go on Wendover trips – “Texas hold-em”. Ernie loved to fish and hunt. He will miss his cat Sofie. Ernie especially loved playing games with his family.

Dad had a strong determination, energy and strength, and he never wanted to give up even when he was tired and in pain. He was always busy and active; was generous and friendly, and had so many friends. He also loved to visit his daughter in St. George, Utah.

We will miss his cheerful, kidding nature. He loved to joke with all of us.
