Frank Clements died suddenly on August 3, 2016. There was no warning, no signs, he was just gone. He was sick and didn’t want to be a burden to his family and friends. He hid it well and tried to carry on like normal until his time ran out.
His son, Aaron, regards Frank as the greatest man he has ever known. Family and friends often found him stubborn and always incredibly opinionated. At the same time, he was exceptionally patient and a great teacher. Frank was enthusiastically curious and always ready to make discoveries or learn something new. When he took something on, Frank was all in. It didn’t matter whether it was bee keeping, motorcycles, cool cars, Chinese cooking, and WHAT ELSE!
Frank was born on June 3, 1957 in Des Moines, Iowa. After graduating from SE Polk High School in 1975, Frank went on to earn a degree in Electrical Engineering from Iowa State University. Frank’s first job after earning his degree was working with high-power transmission lines for Iowa Power and Light. Frank, his wife Tricia, and son Aaron moved to Charlotte in 1987. In Charlotte Frank worked as an electrical designer, a consultant, and eventually transitioned into work as an LC Certified Lighting Designer. In 2011 Frank made a career change and opened a Meineke Car Care Center.
Frank is survived by his wife, Patricia, his son Aaron, who he counted as his greatest accomplishment, and Tricia’s siblings and their spouses, nieces, and nephews who he viewed as his adopted family.
