Ernest Epps Jr. son of the late Ernest Epps Sr. and Alice Brooks, was born in Cambridge, MA on March 1st 1924. He died on Monday, February 28, 2011 at home, after a long battle with illness. He was 86 years old.
He was educated in the Cambridge Public Schools where he attended, The Abraham Lincoln School and Rindge Technical High School. He joined the United States Navy on August 17, 1943 and served as an Aviation Machinist during World War II. On May 18, 1946 he completed his military duties and received an Honorable discharge
After his discharge for the next several years he worked as an auto mechanic at a gas station and the Checker Cab Company in Roxbury.
In January 1957, Ernest married Lois Johnson, and to that union of fifty-four years were born three children, Nina T. Epps, Judy E. Epps and Michael V. Epps
