Ernest “Ed” Dewitt Johnston, III, 80, of China Grove passed away on February 17, 2022.
Born in East St. Louis, IL on August 6, 1941, he was the son of the late Betty Johnston and Ernest D. Johnston, Jr.
A veteran of the US Army, Mr. Johnston worked as a property manager. He was a member of Samuel C. Hart American Legion Post #14.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Carol J. Howard.
Left to cherish his memory are his significant other, Frances L. Cook, whom he has been with for 12 years this time; children, April Johnston of Richmond, VA, Shawn R. Johnston of Troy, OH, and Ernest D. Johnston, IV of Mesa, AZ; grandchildren, Travis, Raymond, Fantasia, and Gage and his fur companion, Bootsie.
