Ernest Charles Sperber, Sr., 96, of Franklin, Indiana, and formerly of Chicago, passed away on Monday, November 28, 2022 at Otterbein Senior Living. He was born on December 20, 1925 in Chicago, Illinois, to the late Ernest Hugo Sperber and Dorothy Elizabeth (Bell) Sperber. Following graduation, Ernest served in the United States Navy during WWII.
Ernest was a pipefitter with the Pipefitters Union, Local #597 and was proud to be the oldest living member. He retired at 62 to travel and enjoy retirement with his beloved wife of 67years, Eve (Cozzi) Sperber, who preceded him in death in 2017. He loved doing crossword puzzles, American history and watching football.
Survivors include his two daughters, Karen Sperber of Chicago and Kathy Cherepski (husband, Bob) of Greenwood; sister, Marianne; and grandchildren, Courtney Cherepski and Daniel Styx. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his son, Ernest Charles Sperber Jr.
