Ernest B. Barthol, 89, of Bethlehem, passed away Monday, March 19, 2012 in St. Lukes Hospital. He was the husband of the late Virginia (Barton) Barthol, who died last year. Born in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late Preston C. and Nettie I. (Best) Barthol. He served in the US Army Air Corp during World War II in the CBI Theater. Ernie graduated from Moravian College in 1947. He was a Car Salesman and worked for Sherwin Williams Paints for many years. He volunteered for Meals on Wheels, was past president of the Kiwanis Club of Bethlehem and a member of the Hiawatha Hunting and Fishing Club in Analomik, Pa. Ernie was a member of Christ Church UCC, Bethlehem. Survivors: are his daughters, Sandra L. Yoder and her husband Paul, and Pamela L. Barthol, all of Bethlehem; son, Bart Barthol and his wife Barbara of Emmaus; six grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren.
